From 1987 to 2009, Gervasio Cardoso de Oliveira Filho worked as a consultant for the World Bank (19 years) and for the IBD (Interamerican Development Bank, 3 years). Responsible for planning, following and supervision of international architecture and urbanism projects.

1 -Professional Experience:

1960 - 1971 –Federal District Government

Worked at the team of the renowned Architect, Oscar Niemeyer, first as an Architecture designer and after graduating as an Architect.From 1970 to 1971, was the Chief of the Department of Regional Urbanistic Projects.

1972 – 1973

Responsible for the development of the architectural projects of the Annex Buildings of the Brazilian Senate (Oscar Niemeyer authorship). He also was the author of the interior design plan and co-author of the landscaping project of the same buildings.

1973-1974 - NOVACAP (Urbanization Company of the New Capital of Brazil)

Unity Chief of the Buildings of the Presidency of NOVACAP.

1979-1985 - National Commission of Metropolitan Regions and Urban Policy

Worked in many functions among them was the Coordination of the Planning of Sectoral, Regional and Metropolitan Regions.

1985-1987 - National Council for Urban Development and National Secretary for Urban Development.

Executive Secretary

1987-1990 – Coordinator of the Nacional Project of Rural Sanitation (World Bank loan).

1991-2009 - UNDP Consultant (United Nations Development Program)

Worked at the Ministry of Cities acting as the Institutional Manager of the Program of Modernization of the Sanitation Sector (World Bank loan) and as the Specialist in Planning, Monitoring and Supervision of the Program of Social Actions in sanitation (IDB loan).

 

2 – Academic Experiences

1968 – Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of Brasilia.

1970-1971 – Internship at the Nacional School of Fine Arts in Paris (Architecture area).

1987-1988 – Internship in Paris and other French cities in Urban Transportation.

1980 – Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning.University of Carleton, Canada.

1984 – Certificate in Urban Design. University of Brasilia.
